Meet Bella, an unspayed dog.

In her first year, Bella has two litters, each with six puppies, totaling 12 new lives. Among these, 6 are female puppies who inherit their mother’s ability to reproduce in just six months. Bella’s total family size at the end of Year 1 is 13 (Bella + 12 puppies).

Bella’s journey has only just begun, but even now, her impact on the pet population is starting to take shape.

By the end of Year 2, Bella’s family grows exponentially.

The numbers begin to skyrocket.

By Year 3, Bella’s 6 daughters have 42 daughters of their own, who each have 12 puppies. Combined with Bella’s ongoing litters, her family now numbers a staggering 516 puppies that year.

By the end of Year 3, Bella’s total family size is 613 (Bella + 516 from Year 3 + 97 from previous years). The growth is no longer linear; it’s exponential, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

In Year 4, Bella’s impact on the pet population is undeniable.
